Sebagai daerah yang berkembang dan tingkat mobilitas penduduk yang tinggi, Pemerintah kabupaten Wajo diminta untuk membangun bandara di kabupaten Wajo.
Hal tersebut terungkap pada diskusi dalam rangka silaturrahmi KKW Sulawesi Tenggara dengan Humas Pemkab Wajo, di Hotel Plaza Inn Kendari, Jum'at (30/10/2020).
H. Syarifuddin, Anggota DPRD kabupaten Konawe Selatan mengusulkan kepada Pemkab Wajo agar bisa menghadirkan bandara di kabupaten Wajo.
Menurutnya, kehadiran bandara ini selain untuk mendukung pembangunan dan perputaran perekonomian di kabupaten Wajo, bandara ini juga bisa mempermudah mobilitas bagi perantau asal kabupaten Wajo untuk pulang kampung.
"Jika mobilitas keluar masuk ke Wajo menjadi mudah, tentunya akan membawa dampak ekonomi yang luar biasa, "ujarnya.
Lebih lanjut dikatakannya, keinginan untuk menhadirkan bandara kedengarannya muluk-muluk, tetapi tentu ini bukanlah sesuatu yang mustahil.
"Kabupaten Wajo memiliki sejumlah daerah penyangga, diantaranya kabupaten Soppeng, Bone, Sidrap dan Pare-pare serta sejumlah daerah lainnya. Selain itu Sumber Daya Alam (SDA) yang melimpah di Wajo juga menjadi alasan hadirnya bandara di daerah ini, " jelasnya.
